Basic Styling #1    (Pinning Under Chin)

1) Fold square hijab into triangle
2) Place in center of Head and bring flaps to the front
3) Pin right under chin in and out method and close pin.
4) You leave as or add a second hijab pin in the middle
of flaps to keep from opening.  Your Hijab should now
be secure.
Tip #1     (How to fold into triangle)
Lay square hijab on flat surface and bring one end
diagonally across to other.  Matching ends make for
an even triangle.  If you are new to this once you
master this method you will not even have to lay out
hijab.  If hijab is not double sided make sure dull
side is folded inside.
Extra Care Tips

Cotton and polyester scarves can be thrown in the washer, no
problem. However, if you wash your hijab a lot, or
the cotton is very delicate, I would personally recommend
handwashing it with Woolite. This goes for the georgette, and
chiffon, as well as hijabs with beading, embroidery, or lace on them.
Silks should be dry cleaned or hand washed and hang dried.  Silk
always remains a soft and flowing material.
( I wash mine on delicate with regular liquid detergent, powder has
left stains on mine.)

An additional way to keep them looking nice is to iron them on a low
setting.  They can burn easily as for any thin material.

I have found that the best way to keep hijabs is to fold them into a
triangle shape. That way when you take them one out of the drawer,
you just have to open it up and it's ready to wear.  Sometimes a light
ironing is required. Sock clips or laundry clips (for hanging the wash
on a line) can be clipped onto the hijab to keep them folded up.
Trust me on this one, your hijab drawer will be messy, so it's an
effort to keep it in some semblance of order.  Some people prefer
the hijab hanger which are tie hangers and just pull them through
the holes.  This way it is easier to find a hijab without pulling them
out of your drawer.  However I always had to iron  the hijab from the
hanger where the scarf bunches up.  I perfer to just pull it out the
drawer and not need to iron it. For some materials  ironing is a must
no matter how you fold them.  Find out which method works for you
and use it to your advantage.
Tip #2         (How to make triangle larger)
Lay square hijab on flat surface. Pull one end
diagonally to middle or 3/4 of the way.  This make
for a larger triangle.  You can also wear a matching
or non matching under scarf and pin a triangle hijab
under chin.  This also extends hijab.  Some people
like there hijabs longer than other or they are also a
little heaver in the chest area than other.  We also
carry larger squares for the pleasantly plump sisters
.
Basic styling #2    ( Knotted Wrap)

1) Fold hijab into triangle.
2) Pin under chin.
3) Bring ends criss cross to back of head and double
knot ends together.
4) Pull the back of hijab out from under knot.
5) Now you have a simple draped look.
Basic Styling #3  (Front and Back Pin)

1) Fold Hijab into triangle style.
2) Place on center of head now pin hijab at the
nape of neck.
3) Now bring even sides around to front of chest.
4) Pin underneath chin
5) (optional) Add second pin to middle of flaps.
Tip #3        (How to pin in and out)
To pin hijab make sure flaps overlap each other.
Push pin tip in both flap and then out and secure it.
This works for pinning under chin, nape of neck,
wraps  and pinning at shoulder.
Tip #5  (How to secure tightly at the nape)
Place triangle evenly on head and pull flaps to the
front of chest.  Make sure flaps are evenly by
matching them up to each other.  Pull scarf at the
top to middle of forehead. Now pin at the nape of
neck.  And pull scarf back to hairline or to wear it is
comfortable. This make scarf extra tight and secure
.
Basic Styling #4  (Basic Drape Style)

1) Fold into triangle. Place at center of head and
pin at nape of neck.
2) Bring flaps to front of chest.
3) Take one side and tuck or pin it to shoulder.
4) Take other side and drape it over to other
shoulder and secure it with hijab pin, shoulder
charms, or straight pin.
Tip #6    (pinning and unpinning your hijab)

Since most hijabs are of a delicate material, always
remember to be careful when pinning and
unpinning your hijab. Sometimes the pin gets stuck
on a loose thread, and it can pull a big ugly rip or
gather in your scarf. You can always pull a gather
out but you still might have a line.
Basic Styling #5   (Fancy Drape Style)

1) Fold hijab into triangle.
2) Place unevenly on head and pin at nape of neck
or under chin. (either way will work for this style).
3) Bring flaps to front (skip this if pinned under chin)
4) Drape longer side to other side and continue to
wrap around and secure by ear with a hijab pin.
5) Now you have simple wrap style.
My Preferences:  I wear my Hijabs year round, of course prints  vary.  I have summer prints which are bright prints and
pastels  that I prefer to  wear in the summer and spring.  And then the darker earthier tones that I love to wear in the fall
and spring.  Some Georgette Hijabs differ in thickness of material this does not bother me at all. However, I do
recommend wearing the thinner ones in the summer months (like georgette, cotton, and gauze) especially if you are new
to wearing Hijabs or live in an extremely hot climate. My favorite Style is the basic drape style.  My favorite material
georgette (ofcourse), it drapes well and fabric is good for work or play styles. I also like shaylas especially for dressy
occasions. You can do a fancy drape and use a decorative hijab pin.
